During September, venues across NSW come alive as part of NSW Bike Week an initiative run by Roads and Maritime Services (RMS), local councils and local communities which celebrates and encourages bicycling for health and everyday transportation.
This year Leeton’s free Bike Week event “Lets Ride Leeton” was held at the Bike Training Facility in Palm Avenue on Saturday 30th September.
60 Participants turned out to enjoy a day of cycling and bike safety themed fun.
Families and individuals took the opportunity to ride and walk on the shared cycle ways around Leeton, participate in Cycling Australia Workshop and some made use of the bike training facility and the skate park. Participants took part in the activities on the bike safety activity table and the face painting. Throughout the event Eurells of Leeton’s bike technician conducted free bike maintenance checks which was popular.
All registered participants received a free bike safety sample bag full of bike safety information and goodies. A great day was enjoyed by all in the spring sunshine with lots of bike riding, bike safety and smiles.
